Loughner hearing Monday at 1:15 in Tucson court - Arizona Daily Star
The court hearing to assess Jared Lee Loughner's competency to stand trial will be held at 1:15 p.m. Tucson time Monday.
A story in Friday's Star gave the wrong time.
U.S. District Judge Larry A. Burns and Loughner's attorneys will attend the hearing at Burns' courtroom in San Diego, but prosecutors and the public may attend via videoconference from a Tucson courtroom.
The Tucson location will be courtroom 6A in Tucson's U.S. District Courthouse, 405 W. Congress.
Loughner is charged with 49 crimes in the Jan. 8 2011 mass shooting outside a supermarket on the northwest side. Six people were killed and 13 were wounded by his gunfire, including the apparent target, former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.
Burns has found Loughner, who has schizophrenia, incompetent to stand trial, and medical personnel are attempting to make him competent at the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Mo.
Monday's hearing will be on whether Burns should order Loughner to stay an additional four months at the prison hospital, as medical professional attempt to bring him up to competency.
